I LOVE to explore my soul with the creative process in art making. I recently had an Artist’s Date to experience International Soul Art Day 2014 with Laura Hollick of Soul Art Studio.  An Artist’s Date is a scheduled day and time dedicated to creative pursuit. On this particular day, my intentions were to see what my Intuitive Soul was telling me, connect with my Creator, myself and others who were also connecting to the spirit of intuitive creation.  This experience brought me refreshment and restoration, as well as renewal and energy, as all of my Artist’s Dates provide.

What is My Creative Process?

I begin my creative process in a meditative prayer and reflection, recognizing it a really a time of worship and healing, clearing and joy finding.  I want to receive.

I then begin to push through that initial anxiety of “what should I do, what type of media, etc, should I use”…and just begin, tolerating that distress of the “I have to get this perfect” and move into excitement and energy.  I use music to bring this forth along with the inspiration of my quiet time.  Then begin allowing the rush of enjoyment and pleasure to just unfold using curiosity that is existent in my soul, following the yearning of my soul to create something. As it unfolds I love to journal and express with colors, sometimes fast, sometimes slow.  Then when that inner critic announces herself again…I have
the knowledge that I can step back and wait…it is ok…and then knowing that I can push through that “fear” and “resistance” again, I gain boldness and courage and CONFIDENCE!  That is the best part.

Regular Creative Pursuit Silences the Inner Critic

I have been strongly influenced by artist’s I have studied under watching their creative process.  I have also been set free of the “shoulds” and just dive in much more now that I practice creativity through art journaling and what I call Intuitive Soul Painting.  I use these processes to express myself and help others to heal, and enter into a better connection with their soul, the very essence of life.

Creativity is Available to All of Us

This gentle, yet vibrant mysterious spiritual connection releases joy, freedom, and illumination to experience ourselves more fully and abundantly. All of this stems from the creative process.  Wow!  And it is accessible right inside of ourselves….for free.  We just have to clear the way, and we learn that we have the ability to do that when we connect with our Intuitive Soul.

Benefits of Taking the Time to Create

I found that by spending time with my creative process allows me to open up to my strong soul and connect to my Creator more fully.  This gives me joy which renews my heart and makes it easier to live the life I desire.  It is really my life blood, my energy and my connection to my Source.

Being immersed in a dedicated time of creativity, such as an Artist’s Date, is a gift to my soul, body and spirit.  Creative pursuit is why I do what I do, where I get my strength and inspiration, and how I experience life from a place of gratitude.  I am in awe of the gift of life every time I create my art.  I have always told myself that art is my essence, and it truly has been my Life healer, Soul and Spirit connector!
